About Gary Crabbe / Enlightened Images


Gary currently resides in Pleasant Hill, California. Gary has a B.A in Social & Adolescent Psychology, and a M.A. in Directing, Acting, Writing, & Production for the Theater.

After college, fate led Gary to the studio of World-Famous photographer Galen Rowell, where he managed the Stock Department of Mountain Light Photography for nine years.

He has four coffee-table format books to his credit; The California Coast, Our San Francisco, Yosemite & The Eastern Sierra, and Backroads of the California Wine Country. His fith book, Backroads of the California Coast is due out in 2009

His client and publication credits include the National Geographic Society, TIME Magazine, New York Times, Forbes Magazine, The North Face, Sunset, L.L. Bean, Subaru, Victoria's Secret, Pacific Gas & Electric, Miramar Productions, The Nature Conservancy, and The Carnegie Museum of Natural History. His photographic prints are included in both private and corporate collections. He also conducts highly praised slide shows and workshops for groups like R.E.I., The Sierra Club, & The Photographic Society of America. In addition, Gary offers a variety of other services, including Consulting, Photo-Editing, Photo Workshops, and Writing.
